Chiropractic Care for Low Back Pain Essential
Researchers recently compared manual therapy (a primary chiropractic therapy) with exercise therapy (a common supplemental chiropractic therapy) in patients suffering from chronic low back pain. Pain intensity, functional disability, general health and return to work were compared between the two groups. Although significant improvements were observed in both groups, the manual therapy group showed significantly larger improvements. The study results underscores the importance of hands on care that chiropractors are skilled in delivering.

Chiropractic for Allergies and/or Crohn’s Disease?
New research indicates chiropractic could be beneficial for some individuals suffering from either allergies or Crohn’s Disease. According to Japanese researcher Dr. Yasuhiko Takeda, president of the Information and Blood Circulation Research Institute in Osaka, disorders of the mid-to-lower back could have a significant effect on the immune function of certain allergy and Crohn’s disease patients. While additional research is needed, the preliminary results are both promising and exciting.

Text Messaging Warning
Too much text messaging could lead to injuries later in life, according to the British Chiropractic Association (BCA). Data from the Mobile Data Association (MDA) indicate 1.65 billion person-to-person text messages were sent in the UK during January 2003. With the US population almost 5 times that of the UK, it seems this problem is not only confined to the Brits. The BCA states, “Chiropractors recognize that text messaging regularly, over a long period of time, could cause repetitive strain which may cause both short and long term injuries… exercises should be done before and after text messaging.” In fact, any repetitive motion can lead to injury over a period of time. If you think you might be experiencing repetitive-type problems, call our office today… we can help!

Exercises: Just What the Chiro Ordered
According to researchers, past research indicates therapeutic exercises can be effective in dealing with instability-related lower back pain and disability. Researchers completed a comprehensive review of available research all the way back to 1966. Due to the variations in research design and methods used, it was difficult to determine which specific exercises would be most beneficial. We encourage you to contact our office today to determine whether therapeutic exercises and/or other conservative therapies we provide could benefit your health-related problem(s).According to researchers, past research indicates therapeutic exercises can be effective in dealing with instability-related lower back pain and disability.
